    Dear faculty, staff, lecturers, researchers and students,

    As we draw closer to the end of the year, I'm reminded about all
    we've accomplished together in this very trying time. Our successful
    transition to - and continued operation within - remote learning,
    teaching and working is 100% attributable to the incredible can-do
    attitude of our social sciences community - a collective that
    continues to inspire me everyday in its willingness to take on the
    challenges of our time. I'm also reminded, given the state's renewed
    regional shutdown order, that we must remain vigilant in our efforts
    to stem the spread of COVID-19. In that vein, beginning this week,
    UCI has expanded asymptomatic testing to a broader range of students
    and staff, including post-docs, researchers, and research assistants
    that are coming to campus for research purposes.

    Students already residing on campus are required to test. Information
